DEE

Name: Dee

Breed: Miniature Pinscher mix

Age: 3 years 2 months

Birthdate: January 1, 2022

Weight: 4.4 kg

Size: Small

Gender :Spayed female

Health: Fully vaccinated. Spayed. Healthy.

Other:
Gave birth in December 2024.

Slight underbite.

Dogs:

Good (she may be afraid of large dogs, depending on their energy and temperaments). When she has had enough playtime (with dogs that are especially playful or energetic), she will seek refuge in a human’s arms or lap.

Cats: Good

Children: Good (was in a foster home with a 5 year old and an 8 year old)

Adults: Good

Housebroken: Dee tends to hold her pee for long hours—while she has no trouble pooping outside, peeing is something she struggles with each time. We suspect she may have some trauma related to this, possibly from being punished for peeing in the wrong place. We are trying to praise her every time she pees, no matter where.

Crate/Kennel: She doesn’t enjoy it but will travel in one.

Energy Level: Medium (There is a stark contrast between her downtime and playtime)

Food Aggression / Resource Guarding: None

Personality: Meet our sweet Dee, whose gentle soul will melt your heart! This nurturing pup shows remarkable patience, even with the most rambunctious puppies and kittens. While she might look around for her buddies if they wander out of sight, Dee is wonderfully adaptable to new situations and settles in quickly wherever she goes.

Looking for a drama-free companion? Dee's your girl! With her easygoing personality, she's never one for unnecessary barking or aggression. Instead, she'll happily cuddle in your lap, soaking up all the affection you have to offer. Watch out because she’s a big kisser!

Dee's friendship circle knows no bounds! She forms fast friendships with humans, cats, and fellow canines alike. Just be mindful that our sensitive girl can get a bit startled by sudden noises or unexpected movements—it's just part of her endearing personality!

When relaxation time comes around, you'll find Dee right by your side, offering her heartwarming company. But don't let her cuddly nature fool you! This girl transforms into a speed demon outdoors, especially when she spots doggy friends at the park. Her pure, unbridled excitement as she zooms around will bring a smile to your face every single time!

Could Dee be the perfect addition to your family? We think so!

Leash: Good, but spooked by unexpected noises (loud, sudden). She will try to take cover so make sure you double leash her in the beginning until she gets acclimated.

Dee is easily startled by various everyday occurrences. She gets frightened by passing cars and motorcycles during walks. Common household sounds like objects being placed down or doors closing can make her jump. She's uncomfortable around long objects like sticks and becomes anxious at the sound of flowing water from showers or drains.

While Dee adapts well to new environments after initial adjustment and doesn't show aggression or unnecessary barking, potential adopters should understand her sensitive nature requires patience and gentle handling. Her affectionate personality and desire to stay close to her people make her a loving companion for someone who appreciates her unique temperament and can provide the reassurance she needs.

Her Story: Dee and her two pups were saved from being euthanized
