Sweet Shiro is blind in her left eye (from birth). At the time of her rescue, her right eye was bulging but she was given eye drops and ointment for it and it has gone down significantly. Vet note will be attached.

Misaligned teeth, slight underbite. Will receive a scaling soon, will likely have a few teeth extracted.

Dogs: Good

Cats: Untested but likely good

Children: Good

Adults: Good

Other small critters: Untested but likely good

Housebroken: Goes on pad indoors but will sometimes miss. Regular walks will certainly assist

Crate/Kennel: Will travel in one but prefers to be next to humans

Energy Level: Medium (low in general but has playful outbursts)

Food Aggression / Resource Guarding: Absolutely none

Personality: Shiru is as sweet as they come. Just rescued in the fall of 2024, Shiru is still learning how to be a house companion. Quite understandably, she is still fearful of the vacuum and other loud noises and will try to hide from them.

Shiru has a very playful side to her cheery personality that is coming out more and more with each passing day. She is not great at reading social cues, however, and may annoy dogs who are not so inclined. Sometimes, Shiru wees herself when she is really excited.

Shiru does not get carsick but is fearful of the noises that come with traveling in a car. For instance, she is spooked by the windshield wipers. However, we are confident that with time, she will become used to these everyday sounds and acclimate quickly.

Shiru loves to play in the yard and is starting to get the hang of leash walking. She needs more practice and will do best with an adopter who will have the patience to work on this with her.

Shiru is not destructive but likes to chew on plushie chew toys.

At night, she will sleep on her bed but you may wake up in the middle of the night with her cuddled up next to you. Her current foster home allows dogs on the bed and she seems to like the arrangement but will sleep on her own when she feels too hot or stuffy. She also has to share the bed with two fur siblings who like to claim their space so this may affect Shiru’s preferences. Overall, Shiru is a super affectionate dog.

Shiru lives with two fur siblings in her foster home.

Leash: In training.

Her Story: Rescued from an illegal breeding operation in Busan that housed over 600 dogs

Adoption Wishes: Shiru has survived what can only be described as hell on earth. Please give her the happy ending she so deserves.

ADOPTION FEE: $700
